About This Event
Participants will develop a foundational understanding of the AI Integration Continuum and identify the knowledge, policies, and practices needed to support responsible AI use in educator preparation.
As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly present in educational settings, educator preparation programs must develop shared understandings of its opportunities, limitations, and implications. This session introduces the AI Integration Continuum and focuses on the foundational knowledge, policies, competencies, and conditions that support thoughtful AI integration. Participants will explore what AI literacy means for educator preparation and identify key considerations for establishing a strong foundation for future implementation.

Dr. Kate taught both special and general education in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and the Netherlands. She believes residencies have the power to prepare all teachers to be inclusive.
Dr. Heather Michel
Director, The Residency Lab
Dr. Heather Michel is the director of The Residency Lab and has coordinated teacher residency programs for the last five years at various levels of implementation.
